Sleep

I need sleep tonight. Nothing has gone my way this evening. Ugh. Just a rough evening. Some nights I hate paying bills, lol.

But on the positive side of things, here is an inspiring quote that I found and love. :) It is so going to go in my book nook. :) I hope to post a real entry tomorrow. :)

"A home without books is a body without soul." ~Marcus Tullius Cicero

Thanksgiving

I thought that this quote was very fitting for Thanksgiving, in a funny way. :) Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and counted your many blessings. I know I did.

Quickie

A quickie today since I don't know if I will have time to post later. :)

I don't remember where I found this quote, but it stuck out to me and I knew I would have to share it.

“You can either hold yourself up to the unrealistic standards of others, or ignore them and concentrate on being happy with yourself as you are.” ―Jeph Jacques

I know that this is something that I need to work on myself.

Quotes from Retreat

A while back we had a work retreat where we had to draw a picture of a pig and depending on certain aspects of the pig that you drew, there were different perceptions/thoughts that are supposed to identify with you.  I have my very badly drawn pig and I was going to put it up on here to share, but of course I haven't taken a picture of it yet.

Anyway, the reason why I wanted to blog about it this is that during the presentation there were some awesome quotes that were shared and that I wanted to share here on my blog.  I foound them inspiring!

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."  ~Sir Winston Churchill

"Outside my window, a new day I see

Only I can determine what kind of day it will be.

 It can be busy and sunny, laughing and gay

Or boring and cold, unhappy and grey.

 My own state of mind is the determining key

For I am only the person I let myself be.

 I can be thoughtful and do all I can to help

Or be selfish and think just of myself.

 I can enjoy what I do and make it seem fun

Or gripe and complain and make it hard on someone.

 I can be patient with those who don’t understand

or belittle and hurt them as much as I can.

 But, I have faith in myself and I believe when I say,

I personally intend to make the best of each day."

Quote

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant;
if we did not sometimes taste adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.

Journal Jar {Scripture}

What is your favorite scripture and why?
My favorite scripture is in Ecclesiastes 3:1. A Time for Everything, but I will share the passage with you.

1For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
2a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
There is a time for everything. Everything is done in HIS time. We cannot rush it no matter how we might want to. I have referred to this passage quite a bit, especially with me not being able to get pregnant. I have to keep reminding myself that it is not my time yet. It is not my season. I will continue to be patient and hope that there is a season for me.
Now what is your favorite scripture and why?

Poor Quote

With all that is going on in the economy and many people I know that are struggling, I find this quote uplifting.

Simple Quote

I think I'm going to start sharing some of my favorite quotes that I have stumbled across. I have a ton of them saved in a file on my computer and I realized, what good are they doing there? Someone else may enjoy them. too.

Here is todays:
Go back to simple food, simple clothes, simple pleasures.
Pray hard, work hard, sleep hard and play hard.
Do it all courageously and cheerfully. - Herbert Hoover

I wish I knew when he said that, according to Wikipedia, he was born in 1874 and died in 1964, so it was somewhere in between that. Imagine how much things have changed since he said the quote. How much we aren't "simple" anymore. I need to strive to be more simple. Cut out the excess and go back to basics and enjoy myself. I have found the more I declutter the house the happier I am.

Quote

You're a fantastic person on an exciting journey, in the middle of creating a life that you want. If I were you, I wouldn't put up with that negative voice in your head. You deserve better.

~Unknown

{Been going through my email, cleaning it up and I'm coming across a few quotes I want to share.}

Crayola

Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with their imagination.
