Day 182 {Baseball Hat}

Day 182

I'm not a hat person. At. All. But today hubby tossed his hat on me, and I had to snap a couple pics. This one was my favorite. My face blurry with the focus on the hat. Most people would toss this pic out as a "bad picture" but I love it.

Day 181 {Love}

Day 181

Stopped and snapped a couple quick pics while we were out walking. I loved this one. I think this is a new fav despite how badly comosed and overexposed it is.

Paper Dolls

Rochester Scrapbooking Company is having a paper doll contest. Their mascot is Ms. La Tete and if we buy the pattern for Ms. La Tete, we can make up to 5 outfits for her one in each category. I've completely finished 3 outfits and am working on the 4th outfit. I am having a blast and so far I wish I could make these clothes for me! I am loving this! I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it, but I am! SO MUCH FUN!!! Really challenging me as well.

Day 180 {Boa}

Day 180

While at Hobby Lobby today, my husband tossed a boa on me. Of course it was hot pink! Perfect photo op!

Changes

Yup, you are getting another actual post today, which is shocking isn't it? Not just pictures!

One thing that I've really started to notice since starting Celexa is that I want to be around people more. On Friday's when Jason is gone I get kinda lonely. I used to love this time to myself. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy being alone, but I would much rather be around others. It's a far cry from when I didn't want to be around anyone including Jason. I'm much happier now. What a blessing this has been.

I think part of it, especially tonight, is that I don't know what to do and I'm bored. I don't want to scrapbook, I have a headache and when I attempt to scrapbook then I just get frustrated. I already watched a movie, and don't want to sit down and concentrate on a book. I played around a bit with my last three pictures of the day. The one right before my job update entry is my current favorite. I meandered around outside a bit, thought about going for a walk, but after some of the stuff that's been going on nearby I don't dare go alone.

I'm leaning towards heading to bed. Yup, isn't that lame. Almost 8:30 on a Friday night and I'm thinking about heading to bed. I'm such a dork, lol.

Things are going well for me. I have so much to be thankful for. God has bestowed so many blessings on me lately.

So much for writing a long blog entry outside on my laptop, I have to go in as it's starting to sprinkle again!

Day 179 {Close-Up}

Day 179

At home from work. Tired. And it's still early on a Friday night.

This isn't a "perfect" picture, but I really like it. I love how you can see both of my eyes in here. Huge flash spot though. And I was seeing stars afterthe picture, lol. Was hoping for natural light, but it's raining out.

Job Update

This morning I woke up and didn't really want to get up even though I woke up 2 minutes before the alarm clock went off. I worked until 10 p.m. last night and had to be back to work at 8 a.m. this morning.

The day has gone by slow, but I've gotten a few things done and crossed off my list. There has been hardly anyone in today, which is odd for a Friday. Especially since it's rainy out there. But I was looking at it that at least it's Friday and I have a three day weekend. Enjoying the quietness here in the office.

I got an e-mail from my manager with the subject "TA Positions." I wondered if I got in or not. For those of you that haven't been following this, let me share a bit.

We moved the computer lab from our permanent location to a small temporary location back in March. We went from 22 computers, 6 scanners, and 2 MAC systems down to 4 computers, 2 scanners and no MAC systems. People weren't happy, but there was nothing we could do about it. We have to share the space with another department as well and that is all the space we got. We were first told that it would be temporary until mid-June. That date then got pushed back to October 1. When we were first told that we were moving to a temporary location and that they were looking for space for our permanent location, I had a feeling that we wouldn't re-open. Then we found out that the computer lab was closing. Now our funding comes from two different departments. With how the funding works one department is still willing to fund the two .5 FTE positions. We would be in the classroom and occasionally out at the other computer lab which isn't staffed often.

When we were notified of that, we had a meeting with HR and they broadly explained some options. We were also told to essentially start applying. We also had to respond to an email from our manager by letting her know if we were interested in either .5 FTE position. If all 5 of us were interested in it, then it would go by company seniority, of which I have the least of with 5 years. Since I wasn't expecting a real chance at keeping my current job, I updated my resume and have been applying like crazy for part-time positions. If none of us wanted to keep our current position then the TA position would have to be posted and we would all start looking for jobs. It was a hard decision for me to make up my mind on what to do. I decided to still keep my hat in for my current position just in case.

Through all of this I have felt at peace and with whatever happens, happens. It was God's Will and I will accept whatever happens. If this would have happened to me last year I would have been so stressed out about everything, worrying and been overall a basket case. It's amazing how things change in a year.

Now getting back to the email. I opened it up and I find out that I am one of the two people staying at my current position!!!! YAY!!! I am very happy with this, even though I seen positive aspects on both sides. Now I can stop looking for jobs, as my one year commitment starts over again.

Day 173 {Sleep}

Day 173

I almost forgot to take a picture today! I was up in bed almost asleep and realized it. Off I went to get my camera. This is how Jason and I often sleep. Love the snuggling.

Day 172 {Outside}

Day 172

Out in the yard again! Enjoying the beautiful evening and watering my plants.

Gardening pics!

My pool gardens are doing great!! I'm thrilled!

First off we have lettuce! I think I have a TON that can be used already. I better get to eating it!!

Then we have my tall peas. I can't believe how tall they are!

And my first blossom on my pea plants! YAY!

My tomato plants!

And from the yard. Peony plants! I have a couple of HUGE blossoms. I have never seen them this big before!!

Day 170 {New Woman}

Day 170

Don't you feel like a whole new woman after getting your hair cut? I got my hair cut for the first time in over a year. The stylist said she cut about 6 inches of hair off. I think I like it, and it feels so much better!! Yay for haircuts!

Day 169 {High Heeled Shoes}

Day 169

Isn't it fun to find shoes that you forget you had? It's almost like you went shopping without spending anything! These shoes, paired with a black pencil skirt, a red v-neck silk shirt (that I too forgot I had) and my black short jacket made a nice outfit today for work.

This picture didn't turn out how I liked at all. I was having a hard time this morning, and I didn't have much time before heading to work. It's a crappy picture, but oh well, I like it anyway. Isn't that all that matters?

Day 168 {Sunburn}

Day 168

I was out in the sun this weekend and got a bit of sunburn. Thankfully it doesn't hurt, at least not yet!

Dreaming and going crazy

I think I'm starting to go crazy. I've been sitting here at work and daydreaming about a place to live.

I picture a quaint little white farmhouse and a red barn on a nice 40 acre piece of land. The house has a nice front porch under an awing so you can sit under it. We would be up on a hill...a small natural pond and a small creek running through the property.

I would want some chickens for eggs...a nice large size garden....possibly a couple pigs or cows for meat...that would be in due time though. Start out slow. I would love to somehow live "off the grid" so to speak, and be much more self-sufficient. I don't think that will ever happen, but I would love that. Out in the country, fields surrounding our land, neighbors a ways down the road. Ideal for me.

Part of me thinks I'm going crazy, wanting to live this way...I think I would love it though...

Day 167 {Bead Necklace}

Day 167

Visiting my in-laws today and my 4-year old niece insisted I wear this necklace, but said I had to give it back to her before we left. I proudly wore the necklace the entire time we were there. Doesn't it look beauitful with my dress? Little things like this make me wish I had kids of my own.

While we were there, we also seen two ants pulling a catepillar. The kids were fascinated by it and miraciously left the ants to their task.

Day 166 {Fun Kiss}

Day 166

An odd, fun kiss outside with hubby. We were grilling and he told me to stick my tongue out. Of course I had to take a picture.

Day 165

A quick shot this morning before heading out to get some groceries.

Thursday, June 12, 2008

Day 164 {Updating}

Day 164

Working on revising and updating my resume. Work is eliminating more than half of our jobs. I hope to find a new one soon. I'm actually at peace with it and the change could be a good thing.

Day 163 {Hands}

Day 163

Jason's hand over mine at our favorite BBQ place, John Hardy's BBQ. We often hold hands and chat while waiting for the food to arrive.

Day 162 {Pink & Polka Dots}

Day 162

I have a thing for bright pink things and polka dots. Imagined how excited I was when I seen these on the clearance rack at Target. They are so me.

Day 159 {Hammock}

Day 159

Relaxing in the hammock up north enjoying the view of the field. The lilacs sitting on my leg are from Jason, he went and picked them for me. :)

Random pics from up north

I took a few fun pics from up north when we were up there last weekend. Check them out on my Flickr account. Click Here Remember you can click on the thumbnails to see larger pics and to see my comments on there.

I'll give you one sneak peak. :)

I've been wearing my hair like this often lately. Pulled back in a bun on the nape of my neck and then tied with a bow. Something a little different.

Around Mayo

I snapped a couple of pictures today while walking over to the drop in center before my next shift started.

The Mayo Brothers are the people in the statute.

Day 157 {Laundry}

Day 157

Every Wednesday or Thursday I do a load of darks. Here they are fresh out of the dryer, ready to be folded. With only two of us in the house, I'm happy to only have to do a couple loads of laundry a week.

Day 156 {Sunlight}

Day 156

Me before work, enjoying the little bit of sun coming in from the window.

I will survive!

That really should be my plants will survive, but that really isn't a song. :) These were taken this morning, and I do believe that they will survive. :)

Day 155 {Legs}

Day 155

There is just something about wearing a skirt and pantyhose that I love.

Dreams

Lately I have been having some really odd dreams. They are all different, but I wake up feeling unsettled no matter what I do. I don't remember all of them, but mainly bits and pieces.

In one my cousin Katie and I were at a Backstreet Boy concert, and then were suddenly back in a house trying to protect a kid from his father. The father was going off, and we kept moving from room to room, locking doors behind us, so he couldn't get to us. The next thing I remember is that we are in a room with the kid, and hoping we have enough food and water to survive.

Last night I dreamed that Jason and I were somewhere we didn't know, driving along, and there was fighting going on, like a war. If we didn't get in a car, and evacuate the country to head back home, we wouldn't survive. There was something about us being Christian in there and if the people at the border found out we wouldn't be allowed to leave the country. We made a mad dash to the car in between gunfire and had other people follow us into the car, but we weren't scared because they weren't Christian and we would be allowed to leave the country with them in the car. We got over to the border, the other people got out of the car, and we drove to our home, but had to stop along the way to pay for something. Once we got home, we were holed up in our house and had barely enough supplies to survive. Justin and Tiffany were nearby and Justin and Jason had to take this test and past. Tiffany and I did too, but we had to type ours, it was odd. Then there was gun fire again.

I've also had various dreams over the last couple of weeks where it was the end of the world as we know it and everyone had to fend for themselves. We had some items to survive, but were a bit panicked about it not knowing how long the crisis would last.

Either these dreams are telling me I need to get my ass in gear for something or to not worry so much. They are leaving me unsettled no matter what though.

Day 154 {Lines}

Day 154

A macro shot of my hand cupped. I've always been fascinated by the lines in peoples hands.

Day 153 {Sunglasses}

I love my sunglasses. Playing around with the camera in the car on the way to brunch.

Hail Storm

NOTE: You can click on any of the pictures to view them larger.

On May 30 in the evening we had a hail storm. I just wanted to cry because my plants were doing so good. I was so down about it, but what could do I? Well what I did do was take pictures. Pretty much self-explanatory. :)

This is the sidewalk right out our front door. Yes it's still hailing and raining out.

My poor pool gardens. :( Aren't they sad looking?

My poor pea plants. :(

That evening, as the sun was starting to set, the lighting was awesome out there. Everything had a nice hazy mist/fog.

This is a bolt on the bridge.

After the hail storm, the lighting was so different out, depending on the way you looked, the sky had a orange glow. It would have been the perfect night to take portraits.
