Day 274 {Cozy}

Day 274

All cozy up in bed, starting a new book. It's fall here and we still have the windows open in the bedroom. I love it when the room is freezing and I"m all cozy under blankets. It's the best.

Random memory

I was talking Christmas songs on Mama Central and then I diverted the conversation as I am so good at.

Growing up in the evenings we used to sit on the deck at Grandma and Grandpa's house and watch for the deer to come out.  Grandpa had me convinced that the deer would never come out unless we had Conway Twitty music playing on the tape deck.  I never caught on that it was the same time every evening, the deer could hear the music and that is what made them come out.  Too funny.

There was another song that I don't know, but it had to do with a church and mouse that Grandpa nad I liked.  Something about Sunday mornings, I do believe.  Need to remember that.

I remember the "Thistlehair the Christmas Bear" song by Alabama too.  I wish I could find that somewhere to download.   One of my favs.  I need that song again.

Christmas?

Call me crazy but I've been working on Christmas presents for a while now!   I have the nieces and nephews almost done.   Started one of my little sisters.  That's all so far.

I'm already in the Christmas mood, I love this feeling.   Call me crazy, but I have Christmas music going right now.

Now I won't listen to music or think about Christmas every day, but I'm enjoying this.  I can't wait to get out and get more gifts.  I have a few specific things that I'm looking for and I'm hoping I can find them.

Day 269

My last evening at work in the current location. It was so dead I took out my book and started reading. I get too involved in my books and had tears in my eyes. Not good for at work, but at least no one was around!

Quote

You're a fantastic person on an exciting journey, in the middle of creating a life that you want. If I were you, I wouldn't put up with that negative voice in your head. You deserve better.

~Unknown

{Been going through my email, cleaning it up and I'm coming across a few quotes I want to share.}

Crayola

Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with their imagination.

Day 262 {Not Feeling Good}

Day 262

Came home from work early tonight. Had an AWFUL headache that wouldn't go away even with my mix of ibuprofen and Tylenol. Flushed cheeks, more red than usual. Not feeling good.

Day 261 {More 'Maters}

Day 261

Processing more tomatoes to go in the freezer! I boil them until the skins crack and then cool them down in ice water, dice them up, and then put them in bags for the freezer. Did this quick today before work.

The grayish tint you see, is steam coming up from the boiling water.

Can I just tell you how much I love the sayings inside of these?!?!?!

Works for me Wednesday {Daily Tasks}

This is my first time participating in Works for me Wednesday. It is hosted by Shannon at http://rocksinmydryer.typepad.com/.

This Sunday I started something on a whim and I'm finding it is working fabulously!! I decided to start a Daily Tasks list in a weekly format. Yes, that does sound confusing, doesn't it? Well here is a screen shot of what my Daily Tasks document looks like. I actually fit 2 of these on 1 page printed out.

Note: Click on the image to make it larger to see what I have on my list!

Yes, I had to use different fonts to make it a bit pretty. I thought about doing color, but decided against it since that would use up my color ink faster.

In the past I have tried to do a formal schedule and it never worked for me. With being part time now and varied hours and schedules, I can't have a formal schedule. I decided to create a simple one of things to get done everyday. Since my husband and I don't have kids yet, it may seem to simple, but it works for us.

Once I complete each task for the days I simply place an X there. There is something about doing that, that makes me feel like I accomplished something good. When I work 10-12 hour days, obviously I don't get everything done on my list, but so far it is working awesome for me!! I am just loving this.

Day 259

Day 259

Snapped a quick picture walking from one building to another downtown. It was a beautiful autumn day. I didn't want to go into work.

Failure

Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.

So very true.

Google Chrome

I am back at work for the first time in about a week and can I say how much I dislike IE7 now? I am seriously tempted to download and use Google Chrome here at work now. I know it's not considered the "Standard" but it is seriously hard for me to not be using it! Everything seems to take so much longer!

State Fair Pictures!

Yes, I realize I'm very, very, late in posting these, but better late than never right?

I'm only going to post pictures here and not descriptions. If you wish to read my descriptions for each picture and see them larger, please view the set on my Flickr account. Here is the link.

Now on to the pictures!
