I have issues with manhole covers and such. I hate walking over them. I will walk and step all goofy to avoid them. I guess I'm afraid that I will fall through them.
I also have the same issue with metal grates.

At least I'm not alone in my fear then! Manhole covers and grates I won't walk on.
